An IFTAR With CGIS Team
The month of Ramadhan is known to be a month full of blessings and kindness. The Muslims will be fasting during the day for the whole month before celebrating the Eid’ul Fitr in the following month. As a mark of togetherness, breaking-fast sessions or iftar with family members, friends and colleagues is a tradition and a norm in the Malaysian harmonious society today.
In conjunction to this, the Corporate Geospatial Information System (CGIS)s’ project team in Bangi, jointly organized an iftar session between the various project teams consisting of the client Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), PSI Incontrol Sdn Bhd, Infotech Enterprises, DDSB Sdn Bhd, and Worldgroup. Held on August 16, 2011, the session took place at the lobby area of College of Information and Technology (CoIT) of Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).

More than 100 personnel attended to the event which was not only attended by the Muslim families of the CGIS team, but also by our expatriate partners from India. Making the event more unique and special, some of them even took the effort to fast the whole day together with their Muslim brothers and sisters; AND also dressed up in the traditional Malay samping complete with the songkok as well~!!

The event which was also attended by PSI Incontrol’s Chairman, Harvinder Singh, kicked off with speeches by the key personnel of each team. After dinner, the crowd was refreshed with lucky draw sessions before the event ended at around 9:30pm. The iftar session did not only serve the simple purpose of breaking-fast, but also strengthens the binding and bonding of the CGIS team. From therein, everyone gets the chance to know each other casually and builds up the family-togetherness in the team.
