PSI Incontrol’s Chairman Officiates AMCHAM YE Sales Fair Program

“Nobody talks about entrepreneurship as survival, but that's exactly what it is and what nurtures creative thinking. Running that first shop taught me business is not financial science; it's about trading: buying and selling."
-
Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop

Entrepreneurship has grown rapidly around the world and it is not only being initiated by the adults, but the present younger generation is also showing similar interest into it. Recognizing the existence of this concern, independent bodies have taken initiatives to help and assist these young generations to explore within the world of entrepreneurship and taking them to a higher level.

The American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) through its Corporate Social Responsibilities initiatives has introduced the Young Enterprise (YE) Program from 1989. The program serves the objective to allow students of national schools as young as 16 years old to become entrepreneurs. Through this program, the students are given the chance to create and manage their own business, by exposing them to workshops, seminars and real marketing experiences.

On July 16, 2011, the YE Program had organized a Sales Fair located at The Empire Shopping Gallery, in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The Sales Fair which is as part of the students training enables the students to market their products to the public, in a safe commercial environment. From this, they don’t just get the chance to show their skills in promoting and selling their goods, but also to brush up their expertise in business acumen, teamwork and other related areas.

The event was jointly officiated by the Guest of Honor, Harvinder Singh, Chairman of PSI Incontrol Sdn Bhd and winner of Ernst & Young Technology Entrepreneur of the Year (2008).

A total of more than 500 students from 15 different national schools in Klang Valley participated in the Sales Fair which markets mostly handmade craft pieces made out of recyclable materials. The Sales Fair organized is anticipated to becoming the standing platform for the students to enter the entrepreneurship domain, and also assisting the students to unveil and develop their interests in becoming a successful entrepreneur of the future.

We wish all of the students to be successful, both in their studies and their keen interest in being a successful entrepreneur~.

PSI Incontrol's Answers To CSR Call : Industrial Visit By Taylor's University Students

As a responsible corporate citizen and answering the call to corporate social responsibility, PSI Incontrol Sdn Bhd continuously contributes to the community excellence including the educational concerns. The visit majorly will enable the students and lecturers understand the nature of business of the company and in depth coverage on automation engineering matter. It gives the students of today and the future of Malaysia a peek into what the automation engineering world in reality is all about. PSI was keen in bringing about awareness to the student about the current industry trends, new technologies, innovations, work culture, etc. This will enable the smooth transition of the candidates from students of today to the Malaysian engineers of the future. PSI Incontrol Sdn Bhd is proud to be a part of this drive.

The 3-hours visit started off with introduction on the company and the business nature, followed by departmental presentation and tour around the office, demo labs and production floor.

A’Famosa Resort Welcomes PSI Incontrol’s Family Day 2011

The A’Famosa Resort. Located approximately within one hour’s drive south-bound Kuala Lumpur, is a holiday resort in Malacca sitting on 1300-acre piece of greenery and peaceful rural area. In line with their claim to have “something for everyone - regardless of age”, PSI Incontrol Sdn Bhd decided that A’Famosa Resort shall be the destination to organize the annual Family Day of 2011.

A total of 170 participants inclusive of employees and their family members joined the one-day outing. The two main attractions chosen were the A’Famosa Animal World Safari and the A’Famosa Water World.

At the Animal World Safari, the crowd was first entertained by the Elephant show. The performing elephants are very well trained and cultivated. Applauses filled the air each time the elephants completed an act. Next activity in line was the tour in the safari trucks into the wildlife surroundings of tigers, camels, lions, bears, giraffe and other animals. The ride was bumpy and almost similar to the real safari in Africa! They let the animals roam free whilst the visitors are safely kept in the “mobile cages”.

After the safari tour, the group then moved on to the Multi Animal Show. Before reaching the show arena, we had to walk through the petting zoo whereby the visitors are given the chance to feed and pet the friendly animals like ponies, goats, and sheep. Children really enjoyed this section as they can go very near to the animals and touch them gently. Some of the brave ones even bought the pre-packed vegetables to feed the animals.

At the Multi Animal show, the spectator were “entertained” by well-trained mouse, cats, parrots,  flamingos, dog, and monkeys, just to name a few. One of our participants who volunteered to have a dance with  the ‘tame’ yellow boa python got a fright of his life when one of the act he needs to do is to place the python’s head into his mouth~! However, being a gentleman, he took up the challenge and waded away gleefully with a great round of applause.

Before the lunch break, the pack gets a chance to board a raft to visit the Monkey Island. There are monkeys which are kept in captivity and some of the smaller ones were left to roam freely on the man-made island. The visitors enjoyed imitating the “woot-wooting” alternating sound of the monkeys before leaving the island for a group lunch at the cafeteria area.

The A’Famosa Water World greets us with its big Wave Pool, a pool with real waves splashing onto water enthusiasts. Whenever the siren is alarmed, everyone in the pool then be ready to be ‘hit’ by the waves of water. The waves are ‘safely’-strong that it can relocate a stationary-sitting adult from the centre to the edge of the pool~! On top of it, whether one takes up the sophisticated Seven Storey High Speed Slide, cruising the Lazy River, or perhaps just splashing water towards each other in the pools, everyone looks highly happy and content.

To conclude the merry event, whether an employee is present as single or with family members, everyone had a very good time, together. The annual event really does strengthen the bonding between the big family of PSI Incontrol Sdn Bhd and their family members.
