PSI Delivers Additional Customer Information System to Switzerland
Swiss Ruf Multimedia AG awarded PSI subsidiary PSI Transcom GmbH to provide Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB) with a central system for comprehensive real-time customer information. MGB contracted Ruf Multimedia AG to carry out the entire project.
The PSI solution in MGB’s control centre provides the basis for delivering reliable customer information to 43 stations. The centrally operated system is based on the telematics platform PSItraffic, which gathers information on the status of operations and processes it for passenger information and for scheduling. Its modular design and great flexibility make the system particularly viable for the future.
Customer information steles with TFT screens will be installed on platforms, providing passengers with real-time information on departures, delays, disruptions and connections or displaying specific marketing information. Interactive features such as “Stop on request” and announcements on upcoming departures complete the offer. Passengers will also receive timely and targeted information via loudspeaker systems.
Ruf Multimedia AG, a Swiss company with global operations, provides complete solutions in the areas of passenger information and passenger safety in vehicles and at railway stations and stops.
MGB’s rail network extends over 144 km from Zermatt to Disentis and Andermatt to Göschenen. A direct connection is available at Disentis to Rhätische Bahn, with which MGB jointly runs the Glacier Express between Zermatt and the Graubünden destinations St Moritz, Davos and Chur. Rhätische Bahn has also been successfully using PSI’s customer information system for a number of years.
